KB39512: The Time Series widget does not display totals on the iPad with MicroStrategy Mobile 9.4.x and 10.x

SYMPTOM:
Users setup a Time Series widget to run on the iPad against Strategy Mobile 9.2.1. The widget is based off a graph that is configured to show subtotals.  However the widget on the iPad doesn’t show the totals, like shown below.
 

 
Notice there is no subtotal on the widget.

 
STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
Follow these steps to reproduce in a Strategy Tutorial project.

1. Create a report with Month on the rows, Category on the columns, and any metric.
2. Convert the report into a document.
3. Right Mouse Click (RMC) on the grid and select Edit totals. Add Grand Totals. Notice a total column appears at the right and a total row appears at the bottom.
4. Display the grid as a Vertical Line – Absolute. The total will not be graphed.
5. RMC on the graph. Go to Format Graph > Advanced > Show subtotals. Now the total is displayed in the graph.
6. RMC on the graph. Go to Properties and Formatting > Widget, apply the Mobile Time Series widget.
7. Save and run on the iPad using the Strategy Mobile 9.4.x or 10.x client.  Notice that the total doesn't show up.

CAUSE:
This is a current limitation of the Mobile Time Series widget in Strategy Mobile 9.4.x or 10.x.
ACTION:
Currently this issue is still being reviewed for feasibility by our Technology team and it is not scoped for any upcoming scheduled Strategy release.
WORKAROUND:
The total can be calculated by a derived metric. The derived metric will be displayed in the Time Series widget correctly.
