A Grid icon with the text [Add 1 or more attributes and/or 1 or more metrics] appears in PDF page after exporting a Dossier with empty grid visualization to PDF in MicroStrategy Library 10.10

Diqing Shen

Senior Manager, Cloud Support • MicroStrategy

Starting with the release of Strategy ONE (March 2024), dossiers are also known as dashboards.

Description

When a Strategy user exports a Dossier with an empty grid visualization to PDF in Strategy Library 10.10, the original "Grid icon" with the text  [Add 1 or more attributes and/or 1 or more metrics] appears. Rather than showing the empty grid, it resorts back to the default beginning page.

Steps to reproduce

1. Create a new Dossier with an empty grid visualization
2. Share and launch the Dossier in Library.
3. Export the Dossier to PDF from Strategy Library.
4. Note that the PDF shows the original Grid icon.

Why is this happening?

This is a known issue in Strategy Library 10.10 (web export).
Our engineering team is constantly working to enhance the overall Strategy experience.

Solution

This issue has been fixed in Strategy Library (Web) 10.11. Feel free to upgrade to the latest version for the fix.
With the new version, a blank PDF page will be rendered after exporting a Dossier with empty grid visualization to PDF via Strategy Library.
