When configuring diagnostics on MicroStrategy Intelligence Server, the configuration does not persist after being saved on Linux platforms. This issue might be affect by permissions of MSIReg.reg file.

SYMPTOM:

When configuring diagnostics on Strategy Intelligence Server 9.x or higher, the configuration does not persist after being saved on Linux platforms.

CAUSE:

The most likely cause for this is the diagnostic tool is being launched under a user account which does not have write privileges on the MSIReg.reg file. This file is located in the home folder of the Strategy installation. Any user which wants to make changes to diagnostics configurations will need to have the correct permissions to modify this file.

ACTION:

Run the diagnostics configuration tool under a user account which has read/write access to the MSIReg.reg file.
