Outlines what settings to enable to prevent email delivery when a document's underlying reports return no data

The following two steps will help prevent email delivery when a document's (Report Services Document) underlying reports return no data.  Both steps must be carried out to accomplish the desired end result.

A. Set the Document Error Handling to Fail the document

  1. Edit the Narrowcast service via the Narrowcast Service Wizard.
  2. Add the desired report/document attachment.
  3. Click Advanced Properties in the Desktop Document Selector.
  4. Go to the Error handling tab and select Fail the document if the report services document returns partial results.

B. Set the Error Handling to Fail Message on Error

  1. Click OK and go back to the Service Wizard.
  2. Right click on the document attachment > Error Handling and select Fail Message on Error. This will prevent an email from being sent out if the document returns no data.
