KB39811: "An error has occurred on this page. ()" error happens when exporting a Report Services document with a custom widget to flash (mht) file in MicroStrategy Web 9.2.1

SYMPTOM:
 
In Strategy Web 9.2.1,the following error happens when exporting a Report Services document with a custom widget to flash (mht) file:

CAUSE:
 
When deploying custom widget through Flex, the swf files and changes in widgets.xml are only added to Strategy Web server folder without adding to Strategy Intelligence Server folder.
 
 
ACTION:
 
Add the swf file and all changes needed to Strategy Intelligence Server side as well:
 
1.  Copy the swf file to Strategy Intelligence Server files:

1. Copy the swf file from ...\Strategy\Web Aspx\swf folder.
2. Paste it to ..\ Common Files\Strategy\swf folder.

2.  Copy the text from widgets.xml file:

1. Open the file (using notepad) ..\Web ASPx\WEB-INF\xml\config\widgets.xml
2. Copy the entire line about the newly deployed widget.
3. Open the file (using notepad) ..\Common Files\Strategy\widgets.xml
4. Paste the new line to the end (before /widgets>)

3.  Re-start Strategy Intelligence Server and Web server to make the change take effect.
