SYMPTOM
Users receive an "Unsupported Data type" error message when running a query against a column with "NVARCHAR/NCHAR" data type in Strategy 10.10 against an Oracle warehouse. If users check the ODBC DSN advanced tab, they will notice the "Enable N-CHAR Support" option is missing as shown below:

CAUSE
This is because the Enable N-CHAR Support connection option has been deprecated, and the driver behavior has been updated to always provide support for the N-types NCHAR, NVARCHAR2 and NCLOB.
ACTION
The EnableNcharSupport attribute can still be manually configured for this release but will be deprecated in subsequent versions of the driver. To configure the attribute on Windows, add the ODBC data source option "EnableNcharSupport=1" to the Extended Options field on the Advanced tab. For UNIX/Linux, using a text editor, add the attribute to your data source in the odbc.ini file.
In Strategy version 10.9 and below, the "Enable N-CHAR Support" option is still available in the advanced tab, and can be enabled by referring to the below article:
