KB39902: The function list "Sorting, Subtotals, Grand Totals, Thresholds" for grids are messed up when editing a Report Services document in MicroStrategy Developer 9.x and 10.x

SYMPTOM:

In Strategy Developer 9.x and 10.x, the function list "Sorting, Subtotal, Grand Totals, Thresholds" for grids are messed up when editing a Report Services document.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

Follow the steps below to reproduce the issue with Strategy Tutorial project:

  1. In Strategy Desktop, create a report R1 with attributes Year, Month in the row and metric Cost in the column.
  2. Create another report R2 with attribute Year in the column.
  3. Create another report R3 with blank grid.
  4. Create a Report Services document, add three grids R1, R2 and R3 into Detail Header of the document one by one.
  5. Edit R1. Go to menu>Data and check the functions available for it. Note that functions "Sorting", "Subtotal", "Grand Totals", "Thresholds" are missing (The function list is the same as what should be available for R3), as shown below:

  • Edit R2. Go to menu>Data and check the functions available for it. Note that only "Sorting" function is displayed which works as design,  as shown below:

  • Edit R3. Go to menu>Data and check the functions available for it. Note that all functions are available (The function list is the same as what should be available for R1), as shown below:
