KB39985: "Object with ID 'XXX' and type 10 (Prompt) is not found in metadata" error message appears when linking a document in MicroStrategy Developer 9.x

SYMPTOM:
When editing document links to run another document in Strategy Developer 9.x, following error message appears:

Object with ID "ID" and type 10 is not found in the metadata. It may have been deleted.
 
CAUSE:
One possible cause is that there is an invalid prompt reference at the document level.
 
ACTION:
Please try to run the latest ScanMD in order to fix document level invalid prompt reference issues.
 
OR WORKAROUND:

1. Open the underlying dataset reports in the link target document and make some temporary change in it (such as adding a metric to the grid and then removing it)
2. Once this is done, click Save&Close. 
3. Next open the document. and again make some change such as adding a text box and removing it.
4. Click Save&Close. 

This can help removing the invalid prompt reference because when re-saving the underlying reports, their version IDs change and re-saving the document will empty its current prompt collection, including the invalid prompt references, and reload them from the underlying reports.
