This KB article discusses an issue due to metadata inconsistency. ScanMD is listed as solution to the issue.

SYMPTOM:
When updating the schema in 3-tier in Strategy 9.x, the following error appears:

ka04W000001IqhWQAS_0EM440000002DG0.jpeg

Error(s) occurred while loading schema: DSSSQLEngine: Schema loading error:
Population Exception: The object shown in the following hierarchy no longer exists in
schema: -Relation-TableThe object definition is incomplete or inconsistent.
Error(s) occurred while loading schema: 7

This issue does not happen in 2-tier mode.

CAUSE:
One possible cause is that there is a relationship based on a table which is not part of the Schema Collection.
If running ScanMD against the metadata, there will be errors in the `Schema Collections Verification` test. The error entries will be of type:

Table is not found in Schema`s Tables collection

ACTION:
Run ScanMD against the project. For more information about ScanMD, refer to the following Strategy Knowledge Base document:
KB35809: Using ScanMD to fix known logical metadata inconsistencies in the MicroStrategy Product Suite 9.4.x - 10.2 Hotfix1
In order to track down the cause of the inconsistency, customers encountering this issue should make note of Schema-related changes, Object Migrations, or error messages prior to experiencing the problem. Change Journaling, if it has been enabled, can help in preserving this information in Strategy 9.4.x-10.x.
