This technote explains how to apply a post SQL statement to a report which is used as a report as filter so the string is applied to the report when it is used as a filter without having to be applied at the outer report level.

This technote explains how to apply a post SQL statement to a report which is used as a report as filter so the string is applied to the report when it is used as a filter without having to be applied at the outer report level.

A report as filter will be applied within the SQL by creating a table for what is selected in the report used as a filter and inserting the values selected within the report into this newly created table.  That being the case, to have a post SQL statement apply to the report as filter but not anywhere else within the outer report, place the post SQL statement within the "Insert Post String" section.

Go into the report which will be used as a filter.

Go into Data -> VLDB Properties

Navigate to the Select/Insert folder and place the string you need within the "Insert Post String" section.

Now when using this report as a report as filter, the post string will be applied since the report as filter has an insert statement involved.
