SYMPTOM:
After successfully installing a Hotfix for Strategy Narrowcast and restarting the server, the Narrowcast services were not started automatically. Narrowcast services are not being executed after a successful installation of a Strategy Hotfix.
On further investigationthe Narrowcast Administrator shows the system is stopped and was not automatically started after the server reboot.
CAUSE:
The hotfix installation requires Narrowcast to be stopped. After the services have been stopped and doing a machine restart will change the start up type to 'Manual' for the Strategy Distribution Manager service used by Narrowcast as described by KB20785 - The Strategy Distribution Manager service does not start automatically after starting or rebooting the machine hosting the Strategy Narrowcast Server 9.x .
ACTION:
It is required to manually start the Strategy Narrowcast server when rebooting the machine after a Hotfix install. This will change the Strategy Distribution Manager service to an automatic start up.
