KB40761: How to remove sort icon and disable sorting on a Microchart widget in MicroStrategy Web 9.x

A Microchart widget by default gives users the ability to sort using the sort icon which appears when hovering over the column headers:

To disable the sort icon in  the widget, follow the below steps:

• Execute the document containing the Microchart widget.
• Right-click on the widget and select "Properties....".
• Change the top dropdown menu to "Mode" and enable the check box "Lock layout":
   
  

• Notice that the sorting icon doesn't pop up anymore:
  

 
Note: with "Lock layout" enabled, users will also not be able to resize or re-position the columns (i.e. column handle will not appear when hovering over headers).
