Stefan Zepeda

Salesforce Solutions Architect • Strategy

Users are unable to change the trendline color for a graph in MicroStrategy Developer 9.x

SYMPTOM:

When users go to Graph Preferences > Series > Revenue > Trendline > Border, the option to change the trendline color for a graph is grayed out in Strategy Developer 9.x.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

  1. Create a report with Region and Revenue.
  2. Go to Graph Preferences > Series > Revenue and check 'Show Trendlines'.

CAUSE:

This is working by design. The option "Show Trendline Color Same as Series" is checked so users cannot change the color.

ACTION:

  • Then go to Series > Revenue > Trendline > Border and notice the drop-down to change the trendline color is grayed out.

    1. Go to Graph Preferences > Vertical Bar Options > Display and uncheck 'Show Trendline Color Same as Series'.

Note: Trendline formatting cannot only be changed in Strategy Developer and not in Web.

  • Go to Series > Revenue > Trendline > Border and users should now be able to change the trendline color.
