KB41001: Purge element caches schedule based on one attribute deletes all attribute element caches in MicroStrategy Intelligence Server 9.x and 10.x

SYMPTOM:
 
'Purge element caches' schedule based on one attribute deletes all attribute element caches in Strategy 9.x and 10.x.
 
STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
 
Follow the steps below to reproduce the issue in Tutorial project in Strategy Developer 9.x and 10.x:
 

1. Create a Schedule Administration Task to 'Purge element caches'. Go to Administration> Scheduling >Schedule Administration Tasks, and choose 'Purge element caches' based on attribute 'Year', as shown below:

• Enable 'Element cache trace'. Go to Diagnostic Configuration, set configuration as 'CastorServer Instance', enable 'Element Server >Element Source Trace', as shown below:

CAUSE:
It is a known issue in Strategy Intelligence Server 9.x and 10.x.
Intelligence Engine delete attribute element caches by attribute ID, however, all attributes share the same object ID but have different version IDs.
 
 
ACTION:
Contact Strategy Technical Support for an update on this issue.
Strategy will continue to investigate and post updates as soon as they are available.

• Create attribute element caches for attribute 'year' and 'region'. In element cache trace log, entries can be found:
• Trigger 'Purge element caches', all attribute element caches are purged. In element cache trace log, entries can be found, as shown below:
