How to identify via Command Manager version 10.x all objects within a project where the "Deny all" permission has been implemented for a specific user group?

There may be cases where a user wishes to update ACLs for a number of objects in bulk, particularly after adding new users or performing an upgrade.  Under such circumstances, there may be a desire to procure a list of objects in a project for which the 'Deny All' permission has been applied in the ACL for a specific user group, as illustrated in the screenshot below.  How can this be achieved?

It is possible to obtain this information by defining a custom procedure in Command Manager according to the following high-level steps:

  • Create a search object in Desktop to search all the objects in the project:

  • Create a new Command Manager procedure as follows:
    a)      Trigger the search object from step 1.
    b)      Scan the result of the search, read the object information and use this as input for running the LIST ACL script for each object.
  • Examine the results yielded by executing the List ACL script to identify objects for which the 'Trustee name' corresponds to the specified user group name, where the 'Trustee type' is 'USER GROUP', and the 'Access Right' is 'Custom' (Browse = Deny, Read = Deny, Write = Deny, Delete = Deny, Control = Deny, Use = Deny, Execute = Deny).
  • Compiling the information retrieved for the objects identified in step 4 will result in a list of all objects as required.
