KB41198: "No data returned by this view. This might be because the applied filter excludes all data. " error occurs when a Web Analyst user attempts to create a analysis object from an Intelligent Cube in MicroStrategy Web 9.4.x-10.x

This article describes an issue due to lack of privileges

SYMPTOM:

When a Web Analyst user tries to create an analysis object from an Intelligent Cube, the following error message will appear in Strategy Web 9.4.x-10.x.

No data returned by this view. This might be because the applied filter excludes all data.

 

 

CAUSE:

Refer to the following tech note, KB37431 for a list of Licenses and privileges required for different actions related to Visual Insight in Strategy Web 9.4.x-10.x. For: "Import data from file or database before using in a Visual Insight analysis", which makes the source an Intelligent Cube, a Web Professional license is required.
 

ACTION:

Give the user "Web Document Design" privilege to allow them to create an analysis object from an Intelligent Cube.
