KB41244: "All" option does not show in Page-By field in MicroStrategy Developer 9.x.

SYMPTOM:
 
In Strategy Developer 9.x, when users click the dropdown list of Page-By field, users cannot see 'all' option.
 
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
 
The following steps are performed in Tutorial Project in Strategy 9.2.1m.

1. In Developer, create a report and add Category, Region and Profit to report.
2. Right mouse click Category in the grid, choose 'Move' and select 'To Page-by'.
3. Run report. Click Category in the Page-by field and see that 'All' option does not show in the drop down list.

 
CAUSE:
 
This is a known Enhancement Request in Strategy Developer 9.x.
 
ACTION:
 
Contact Strategy Technical Support for an update on this problem.
 
WORKAROUND:
 
There are two workarounds to meet this request.
 

• In Strategy Web, 'All' option in Page-By field can be easily applied.
   
  
1. Create a document in Strategy Web and add the above report as dataset.
2. Right mouse click attribute 'Category' and click 'Add to grouping'.
3. After that, 'All' option will appear.
• In Strategy Developer, use 'View Filter' to determine which attribute to be displayed.
   
   
  
1. For the above report, right mouse click attribute 'Category' and choose 'Move' and select 'To Rows'
2. Run report. Currently, all elements will show by default. 
3. In View Filter field, insert qualification on 'Category' and select which elements to show in list.
• As can be seen from below, users can choose which element to be displayed in the grid by putting it to the right area as 'selected object'.
