Unable to execute a SQL statement: SELECT MR_PROP_VAL FROM prefix.MSTRSYSPROP WHERE MR_NAME = ‘VERSION’; Execute Query failed. Object does not exist. Error type: Odbc error. Odbc operation attempted: SQLExecDirect. Invalid object name ‘dbo.FORTNMSTRSYSPROP’.
CAUSE:This issue occurs because the Strategy Narrowcast Administrator is attempting to connect to the table MSTRSYSPROP in the Object Repository in order to check the version of the System. However, one or more objects (MR_PROP_VAL, MR_NAME, or MSTRSYSPROP) do not exist in the Object Repository.
Note:
This error can occur when a user attempted to destroy the system but did not use the “Destroy System” option in the “System” menu.
ACTION: To resolve this issue, perform the following:
- Verify whether the DSN used to connect to the Object Repository was not changed and pointing to a different database. If it was changed, then update the DSN to point to the correct database.
- Verify that all the objects in the SELECT statement exist (in this case, MR_PROP_VAL, MR_NAME, or MSTRSYSPROP) in the Object Repository. If the objects cannot be found, then either revert back to a backup copy of the Object Repository or delete the corresponding folder that contains the system in the Registry. The path to the registry repository folder is:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\MicroStrategy\Broadcast Server\Repository
For example, if the Strategy Narrowcast System “NarrowcastSystem” is the system that returns the error, then delete the folder “1” in the registry under the Repository it corresponds with in System “NarrowcastSystem”, as shown below:
