SYMPTOM:

A report or document with multiple prompts are not answered using URL API in Strategy Web 9.2.x.

CAUSE:

A possible cause is that the syntax for the URL to answer prompts is incorrect. Different prompt types have different syntax and cannot be mixed.

ACTION:

To use the URL API to answer different prompt types in a report or document, you need to use the 'promptsAnswerXML' parameter in the example here:
https://resource.microstrategy.com/MSDZ/MSDL/921m/docs/mergedProjects/WebSDK/topics/urlapi/Passing_Prompt_Answers_Using_the_URL_API.htm#Answering_all_prompts

  1. Add the prompted report to a Report Services document.
  2. In the body of the Report Services document, add the following auto-text:  {&PROMPTXML}. This auto-text will generate the XML needed to complete the URL API call.
  3. Run the Report Services document and answer the prompts with the answers that you want to be passed in the URL.
  4. When the document is executed, the XML needed to complete the URL API call will be displayed. Copy this XML and use it as the value of the promptsAnswerXML in the URL.
