This knowledge base article describes an issue where "Schedule Event Object 'xxx' (ID: xxx) cannot be deleted because other objects depend on it" appears when trying to delete a Event in MicroStrategy Developer.

SYMPTOM
When trying to delete a Event in Strategy Developer, users receive a message that the object cannot be deleted because other objects depend on it. The Event is not linked to any objects.

Schedule Event object 'xxxx' (ID: yyyy) cannot be deleted because other objects depend on it.

 
CAUSE
The Event cannot be deleted because it has a reference in the schedule trigger object which binds schedule event and object. One possible cause is that the event was used to trigger a schedule earlier which has been later modified. 
 
ACTION
Contact Strategy Technical Support for further assistance with this issue. A full backup of the metadata is required in order to properly troubleshoot the issue.
