KB41424: "xxxx@xxx.com is not a valid email address" error message appears when creating an email address containing a space at the end of the email address in MicroStrategy Web

SYMPTOM:
When creating an email address containing a space at the end of the email address under the user's preference in Strategy Web 9.2.x as shown below:

Following error message appears:

Error Saving Personal Preferences.  test@Strategy.edu is not a valid email address

CAUSE:
This is a known syntax check that's done in Strategy Web 9.x
 
ACTION:
This issue has been resolved in Strategy 10.  Upgrade to this version to take advantage of the fix.
WORKAROUND:
Remove the space at the end of the email address and email can be added.
