"Item 'ExportProperties' cannot be found" error occurs when non-administrator users attempt to execute or create reports in MicroStrategy Developer.

SYMPTOM
Non-administrator users might observe that when executing or creating reports in Strategy Developer 9.4.1 and 10.x, the following error occurs:


Item 'ExportProperties' cannot be found.

Administrative users are able to carry out these operations with no errors.

CAUSE
'ExportProperties' is a property set object (known as a System Object) at the project level which, as the name implies, stores different properties used for exporting. In this particular scenario, the user running the report does not have View access to this property set object. After further research, it was also noted that the Everyone group was missing 'View' access to this property set object and all other system objects.

ACTION
The Everyone group was missing 'View' access to the property set object and all other system objects. Contact Strategy Technical Support for steps to resolve this issue.
