KB415692: Report is not able to use an Intelligent Cube created with freeform SQL using Dynamic Sourcing in MicroStrategy 9.x

SYMPTOM:
 
After creating an Intelligent Cube from freeform SQL, reports cannot use this cube as a source via Dynamic Sourcing.
 
CAUSE:
 
Dynamic Sourcing is working as designed. For more information about Dynamic Sourcing and its limitations, refer to the following TechNote:

ACTION:
 
An enhancement request has been opened to allow for this functionality. Please contact Strategy Technical Support for an update on this issue.
 
WORKAROUND:
 
Two possible workarounds which may be feasible, depending on the situation are:

1. Recreate the intelligent cube without freeform SQL and dynamic sourcing will be able to use this cube as a source
    
   or
2. Use the Intelligent Cube created with freeform SQL and manually point reports to this cube as a source, not using dynamic sourcing.
