When running a Freeform SQL report against an Oracle database, the following error is obtained on Microstrategy Developer 9.4.1 and 10.x: "Error: SQL Generation Complete QueryEngine encountered error. Unknown failed. Unable to connect. Error type: System call error. Error communicating with connection process.Find target process dead while sending a message."

SYMPTOM:
When running a Freeform SQL report against an Oracle database, the following error is obtained on Strategy Developer 9.4.1 and 10.x:


Error: SQL Generation Complete QueryEngine encountered error. Unknown failed. Unable to connect.
Error type: System call error. Error communicating with connection process.Find target process dead while sending a message

CAUSE:
The ODBC driver used to connect to the database instance is not a driver supported by Strategy.

ACTION:
It is recommended to create the DSN using the Strategy Connectivity Wizard. This tool will automatically create the DSN with a supported driver.
