KB41648: What does the table DSSCSRPTCACH store?

Community Admin

• Strategy

Article outlines the information that is stored in the table DSSCSRPTCACH and how this is used as part of the MicroStrategy History list database repository.

DSSCSRPTCACH table is part of the set of tables used in the Strategy History List database repository.  Users can take advantage of this functionality by configuring a history list database.  Refer to technical note shown below for additional information about this feature.
KB20508 - How to set up and configure a Database Based History List Repository in Strategy 9.x

Starting Strategy 9.2.0, DSSCSRPTCACH table was introduced as a dedicated table to store report caches only.  In the past all the Strategy objects related to History list caches management (including report caches) were stored in the DSSCSCONTENT table.  Examples of the objects that are still being stored in the DSSCSCONTENT table are: Result SQL, Prompt answers, View settings, etc.  This new schema allows Strategy suite to deliver better performance in the response times when running SELECT, INSERT or UPDATE statements against the History List database.
Information on how to upgrade the History List database from pre-9.2.0 Strategy releases can be found in the technote below:
KB36771 - New feature in Strategy Configuration Wizard 9.2.1: Upgrade History List tables only
