KB41716: How to Show the Document Navigation Path when Running a Flash Document in Fullscreen Mode Using the MicroStrategy Web SDK 9.2.1

Community Admin

• Strategy

In some circumstances, users may want to display a document's navigation path at all times.

In some circumstances, users may want to display a document's navigation path at all times. By default, the path section is hidden by CSS when the document is run in full screen mode. This can be changed by following TN41715  but does not work when running the document in flash view full screen mode. In order for it to work under this situation, the following changes must be made:

Sample Code/Error
<web:ifFeature type="bean" name="rw-flash-view-mode;page-full-screen-mode;"  value="rwframe"><web:else>
<web:ifFeature name="page-rw-interactive-view-mode-full-screen-reporter"><web:else>
<web:ifFeature type="requestKey" name="hiddensections" value="contains:path"><web:else>
<div class="mstrPath" id="mstrWeb_path" name="mstrWeb_path" iframe="true">
<%--
Display the "path" section of the template as specified in pageConfig.xml (i.e. Change_Password_Path.jsp)
<jsp:include page="" />
--%>
<jsp:include page='<%=mstrPage.getTemplateInfo().getSection("path")%>' flush="true" />
</div>
</web:else></web:ifFeature>
</web:else></web:ifFeature>
</web:else></web:ifFeature>

  1. In the Web Customization Editor, navigate to the RWD page, double click on the page and click on the "template" tab located on the bottom.
  2. For the line that says “Template 1”, click on the modify button and say “yes” to the popup asking if you want to create a versioned copy of this file.
  3. Find the following lines of code in the jsp file:
  4.  We need to completely omit the first if/else block, so replace the code with the following:

Sample Code/Error
<%-- <web:ifFeature type="bean" name="rw-flash-view-mode;page-full-screen-mode;"  value="rwframe"><web:else> --%>
<web:ifFeature name="page-rw-interactive-view-mode-full-screen-reporter"><web:else>
<web:ifFeature type="requestKey" name="hiddensections" value="contains:path"><web:else>
<div class="mstrPath" id="mstrWeb_path" name="mstrWeb_path" iframe="true">
<%--
Display the "path" section of the template as specified in pageConfig.xml (i.e. Change_Password_Path.jsp)
<jsp:include page="" />
--%>
<jsp:include page='<%=mstrPage.getTemplateInfo().getSection("path")%>' flush="true" />
</div>
</web:else></web:ifFeature>
</web:else></web:ifFeature>
<%-- </web:else></web:ifFeature> --%>

 Restart the Web Server for the changes to take place. The final result will look like the screenshot below:
