A new cube instance with status of "P" is observed when republishing or refreshing cube in cluster in MicroStrategy Intelligence Server 9.2.1m as below:

SYMPTOM:
 
A new cube instance with status of "P" is observed when republishing or refreshing cube in cluster in Strategy Intelligence Server 9.2.1m as below:

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
 

  1. cube6 has been published against node "JAMES2K864921M" as shown below:

  • Login Desktop connecting to another node which is "YXIA-921M-2K8" and right click cube6>Run. Go to Administration>System Monitors>Caches>Intelligent Cubes. A new cube instance with status "P" is observed as below:

At the same time, nothing observed in node "JAMES2K864921M", which makes sure the cube is accessible during republishing or refreshing.
 
 

  • When the republication is completed,  the cube is "dirty" and then it is updated with status "A,L,F" as below:

  • Check the information of cube6, the cube is now published against node "YXIA-921M-2K8" with updated cube instance ID.

CAUSE:
 
It is an expected behavior in cluster when the cube republication or refreshing is happening against the other node which is not the one publish the cube before. 
 
ACTION:
 
No action is needed since it is an expected behavior.
