When creating a count metric within the Metric Editor, users are able to highlight Count, right-click, and select "Count Parameters". This tech note describes what each of these count parameters controls.

  • When Distinct is set to True, the Count function counts only distinct values.
  • When FactIDis set to something other than (Nothing), the count function is performed on the fact table that contains the chosen fact, instead of the lookup table. If FactID is not set, the count will be performed on the lookup table for the attribute.
  • When NULL parameter is set to True, the Count function counts the NULL cells. 
  • When UseLookUpForAttributes is set to True, the calculation will use the lookup table to search for the direct parent child relationship to determine how the count should calculate.
