Description

In Strategy Developer, after selecting a consolidation object to use within the RunningSum Parameters -> Sort By (tab) option of a RunningSum() metric, the consolidation object disappears after closing the "RunningSum Parameters" window.

Steps to reproduce

  • Using the Tutorial project in Strategy Developer, create a consolidation as shown below:

  • Create or use an existing metric ("Revenue", for this example).
  • Create a new metric that uses the "Revenue" metric created in the previous step using the RunningSum() formula for its definition.
  • Right-click on the RunningSum() formula and go to 'RunningSum parameters'.
  • Go to the sort-by tab and check the radio button for 'sort-by objects' and add the consolidation, as shown below:

  • Click OK and save and close the metric.
  • Re-open the metric definition and navigate again to the RunningSum parameters.
  • Go to the sort-by tab, and notice the consolidation is gone. The default settings are displayed instead. In this case, "Sort by value of the subexpression", as shown below:

Why is this happening?

This is a known issue in Strategy Developer.
Strategy does not currently have any plans to address this in the near future.
