KB41887: Is it possible to limit the number of rows returned by users running view reports against Intelligent Cubes from Developer and Web 9.x?

Is it possible to limit the number of rows returned by users running view reports against Intelligent Cubes from Developer and Web 9.x?

Users may note that it is possible to limit the number of rows of data returned when publishing Intelligent Cubes, via the 'Final Result Rows' for 'Intelligent Cubes' located in the Project Configuration Editor under 'Governing Rules / Default / Result sets'.  It is also possible to define a maximum number of rows for reports in the same window, using the 'All other reports' property:

The 'All other reports' parameter would be enforced for any report in the project concerned.

Given that executing view reports implies a lower overhead than running standard reports against the data warehouse, users may wish to apply a different limit for the number of rows permitted for the two types of report.  It is not currently possible to differentiate between standard and view reports in this way.

An enhancement request has been logged for this functionality to be considered for a future Strategy version. Strategy will continue to investigate and post updates as soon as they are available.
