KB42274: How to uninstall Hotfix from existing Linux/Unix environment

This article describes how MicroStrategy Administrators can uninstall Hotfixes on a Linux/Unix environment

Strategy Administrators have the option to uninstall Hotfixes using the following steps

  • To start, navigate to your INSTALL_PATH configured from the original installation of Strategy Secure Enterprise
  • Navigate to the "_uninstall" directory in the INSTALL_PATH, for example:
    1. /opt/MicroStrategy/_uninstall/
  • Issue the command "./setup.sh -console" to start the program in the command-line format 
    1. The GUI might be used by excluding -console, but it is mandatory to have GUI/terminal enabled.
    2. NOTE: In case of a permissions error, it may be required to CHMOD the file to have full permissions "777"
  • Select a language and press ENTER
  • For "Select an install option", select "Use an existing installation." Press ENTER.

  • Select the correct installation path from the list provided. Press ENTER.
  • Confirm the details provided for this installation. Select "Continue with the installation selected" when done. Press ENTER.

  • Select "Remove hotfix" and press ENTER.

  • Review the installer information and confirm, or type "C" and press ENTER.
  • Once the Hotfix has been removed, press ENTER to confirm.
