SYMPTOM:
A user attempts to alter any of the Default settings in the Web Admin page of Strategy Web but they are not retained after the browser is closed and reopened.
CAUSE:
The system user attempting to write to the sys_default.properties file does not have the proper permissions. The minimum required permissions are read, write, and execute.
ACTION:
Increase the access permissions to the sys_defaults.properties to include write. This file is located in the following path:
for ASP Web > Strategy\Web ASPx\WEB-INF\xml
for JSP Web > <tomcat>\webapps\MicroStrategy\WEB-INF\xml
