Describes an error that occurs due to an invalid connection to the Object Repository

Symptom:

An Administrator is unable to start the Strategy Narrowcast Server Distribution Manager. The following error messages appear in the Narrowcast Server DELog:


RepositoryAPI->Initialize failed : Product: Narrowcast Server Component: Repository API Module: RepConnection Procedure: OpenConnection(295); Unable to establish a connection to the repository.:5868:
Unable to connect to object repository (Connection String 700;NCSRU03.NCSRU03; DSN=MY_DSN; DATABASE=my_data_base; UID=user;PWD=**") 0:5868:
Call to start the Configuration Server during the DM NT Service initialization. DM initialization failed:5868:
Successfully changed the NT Service to be Manual startup:5868:
Problem starting up the DM. :5868:
DM process has shutdown:5868:

Cause

The DSN used to connect to the Object Repository is not anymore available because it has been changed or deleted.

Action

Reconfigure Narrowcast Server System, using the Narrowcast Administrator Console, to use a new or an existing DSN pointing to a valid Object Repository. Start the service thereafter.
