KB42461: Users cannot choose a custom home screen when creating a mobile configuration and any type of project authentication except standard has been chosen in the connectivity settings in MicroStrategy Mobile 9.3.0

SYMPTOM:
In the Strategy Mobile Admin page in Strategy Mobile 9.3.0, there is an option to choose a custom home screen, which can be the contents of a folder or a specific report or document, like shown below.

When users try to configure any of these two types of custom home screens and the project authentication has been set to something different than standard authentication, the input text fields are grayed out and if the login button is clicked, the following error appears:

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
Follow these steps in Strategy Tutorial 9.3.0 to reproduce:

• On the Strategy Mobile Admin page, click 'Mobile Configuration', choose to define a new configuration, and choose 'iPad'.
• On the configuration page, go to the 'Connectivity Settings' tab and configure a project with windows authentication, as shown below or a project authentication mode other than standard:
  

• Go to the 'Home Screen' tab, choose to display the contents of a folder, and click the dropdown to the right to log into the project.
• Notice that the boxes to enter the login credentials will appear grayed out, as shown below:
  

• Click 'Login', assuming that the project will authenticate using the Window Authentication credentials provided in the 'Connectivity Settings'. The following error will appear. 

• Either your user name or password is incorrect. Please try again. Remember that the password is case sensitive 
  
  

CAUSE:
This is a known issue in Strategy Mobile 9.3.0 where the folder browsing feature for choosing custom home screens only accepts Standard Authentication, and Standard Authentication cannot be used unless it has been previously set as the project authentication mode in the 'Connectivity Settings' tab.
ACTION:
This issue has been addressed in Strategy 9.3.1. Upgrade to take advantage of this fix.
WORKAROUND:

1. Temporarily change the project authentication to Standard Authentication, choose the custom home screen on the 'Home Screen' tab, and then change the project authentication back to the desired authentication mode before saving the Mobile Configuration.
2. Navigate to the mobile server's sys_defaults.xml file. Change the 'enabledLoginMode' value to '115' and restart the mobile server.
