This knowledge base article explains how to insert a carriage return in the message body of an email subscription, when using Command Manager 9.4.x-10.x to create the subscription.

SYMPTOM:
When creating an email subscription using Command Manager, there is no obvious way of defining how to insert a carriage return in the message body. Some articles point towards using the \n syntax, however, this does not display correctly when used in the message body.

ACTION:
Simply press the enter key wherever the carriage return is required:

ALTER  EMAILSUBSCRIPTION "subscription1" FOR OWNER "administrator" SCHEDULE "All the time" CONTACT "Vanessa"  ADDRESS "Vanessa" CONTENT "Customer Income Analysis" IN FOLDER "\Public Objects\REPORTS\SUBJECT Areas\Customer Analysis"  IN PROJECT "Strategy Tutorial"  DELIVERYFORMAT PDF EXPIRATIONDATE 05/11/2013 FILENAME "subscription"  SUBJECT "Test"  MESSAGE "hello how are you";
