KB42585: HTML code gets double encoded when it is coming directly from the Data Warehouse when using MicroStrategy Web 9.x

Community Admin

• Strategy

SYMPTOM:
HTML code gets double encoded when it is coming directly from the Data Warehouse when using Strategy Web 9.x. For example, in the Data Warehouse ‘®’ is displayed; however, in Strategy Web ‘®’ is displayed.

CAUSE:
This is working as designed. Strategy Web HTML encodes special characters present in data to ensure the correct display of special characters coming from database.

ACTION:
To disable HTML encoding on Attribute form, set the attribute form type to HTML Tag.
