When creating a new attribute in MicroStrategy Attribute Editor 9.4.x-10.x, the checkbox for "Supports multiple languages" is greyed out for the first attribute form, i.e. the ID form

SYMPTOM:
When creating a new attribute in Strategy Attribute Editor 9.4.x-10.x, the checkbox for "Supports multiple languages" is greyed out for the first attribute form, i.e. the ID form.

The checkbox is enabled for successive attribute forms.

CAUSE:
The first form added to an attribute is set to be the ID form by default. If an attribute only has a single attribute form, it must be an ID form. The ID form of an attribute does not have the option to "Support multiple languages" as ID forms are used strictly for identification purposes. Using a foreign-language description column in a warehouse table as the ID form for an attribute is not supported in Strategy.

ACTION:
Select another column in the warehouse as the ID form for the attribute (or create a new ID column for this attribute), and set the foreign-language description column to be the DESC form for the attribute.
