This article notes an issue that can occur with temp table creation.

SYMPTOM:
In Strategy 10.x, a dataset has a conditional metric. The metric is created with Sum function over a fact which is based on a column with data type Numeric (18,3) as shown below:

But in the dataset’s SQL view, for the temporary table, the corresponding column has data type of Float as shown below:

create volatile table ZZMD00, no fallback, no log(
a       BIGINT,
b       FLOAT,
c       FLOAT,
d       FLOAT,
e       FLOAT,
f       FLOAT)
primary index (a) on commit preserve rows

CAUSE:
This is a known issue with Strategy 10.x.

ACTION:
Currently this issue is still being reviewed for feasibility by our Technology team and it is not scoped for any upcoming scheduled Strategy release.

WORKAROUND:
Manually set the metric data type to be Numeric (18,3) or Decimal(18,3). This can be done through the metric editor, Tools > Advanced Settings > Metric Column Options.
