"Project ‘project_name’ was not found" error message appears when executing commands in MicroStrategy Command Manager

SYMPTOM:

When executing commands in Strategy Command Manager, following error message appears:

Syntax is correct.
Project ‘project_name’ was not found.
Task(s) execution completed with errors.

CAUSE:

One possible cause is that the Fully Qualified Domain Name of the Intelligence Server machine is not specified in the host file of the Command Manager machine.

ACTION:

Locate the host file, which by default is under "C:\windows\system32\drivers\etc" on Windows or "/etc/hosts" on Linux, from the Command Manager machine and add the mapping of IP address and Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN) of the Intelligence Server machine.  In the example below the Intelligence Server is called MY-MACHINE-1.  Its IP address is 10.11.52.113 and its FQDN is MY-MACHINE-1.SAMPLE.COMPANY.COM.

For example:

127.0.0.1 localhost

10.11.52.113 MY-MACHINE-1.SAMPLE.COMPANY.COM
