When attempting to configure MicroStrategy Master Health Agent (MHA) on a new installation of MicroStrategy 9.3.x a warning message appears.

SYMPTOM:

When attempting to configure Strategy Master Health Agent (MHA) on a new installation of Strategy 9.3.x a warning message appears as shown below.

ka04W000000OfkdQAC_0EM4400000029co.png

This machine is already configured as a Health Agent. Each machine can be configured to be either a Master Health Agent or a Health Agent. If you save this configuration, the Health Agent will be stopped and the Master Health Agent will be started.

CAUSE:
This warning message is shown when a configuration of Health Center has already been conducted. In Strategy 9.3.x Health Center is configured as a Health Agent(HA) during the installation process of the Strategy Product.

ACTION:
Configuring the Master Health Agent will cause the Windows Service "Strategy Health Agent" to stop and the "Strategy Master Health Agent to Start". Since it is a fresh installation the Health Agent should not be pointing to another Master Health Agent. If it is, then the other Master Health Agent will lose the connection to the Health Agent.
