The scenario below explains the steps to follow to configure two identical projects pointing to two different warehouses in the same Project Source in Strategy 9.x and later.
Consider a project (P1) in a Project Source that must be duplicated to project (P2) in the same PS but pointing to a different warehouse.
Prerequisite:
- Duplicate P1 (name it P2) to the same Project Source. To do this, the Project Source must be in 2-tier mode.
- Go to Schema > Duplicate Project and create a copy of P1 (now called P2) in the same Project Source.
The newly created P2 still points to the warehouse of P1. To change this, execute the following steps:
- Go to Administration > Database Instance Manager and create a new database instance pointing to the new warehouse for P2. The Open Database Connectivity (ODBC) sources and logins should be appropriately chosen to reflect the new warehouse for P2.
- Right-click on P2.
- Go to Project Configuration ->Database Instances
- Select the newly created Database Instance as the warehouse for P2. Connect in Server mode (3-tier) by choosing a Strategy Intelligence Server
- Right-click on the Project Source.
- Select Strategy Intelligence Server Configuration -> Projects -> General and select the projects to load at startup.
This should now show the projects loaded.
- Log into the Project Source again. There should be two identical projects (P1 and P2) pointing to different warehouses.
