KB428740: “Access Denied” message appears after user receives an “Access Granted” message and is logged into a website using Usher on iPhone

“Access Denied” message appears after user receives an “Access Granted” message and is logged into a website using Usher on iPhone

SYMPTOM:

When using the Usher app on iPhone for logical access, after a user scans an Usher Stamp (QR Code), the user receives an “Access Granted” message and is logged onto the website. Within a few seconds, Usher then displays an “Invalid” message, but this has no effect on the website access.

CAUSE:

An Usher Stamp refreshes after a successful login and can only be used once. In this scenario, the iPhone is scanning the QR code twice very quickly. Therefore, after the initial “Access Granted” message, the user will receive a second message, “Invalid”, even though the user is already logged into the website.

ACTION:

Move the iPhone away from the screen after scanning the Usher Stamp and seeing the white loading symbol on screen. This wil prevent the iPhone from scanning the QR code a second time.
