How to disabled screen reader compatibility mode after enabling it in MicroStrategy Web 9.x

SYMPTOM:
After enabling screen reader compatibility in Strategy Web 9.x, it cannot be disabled by unclear the checkbox. User need to manually change "Use Dynamic HTML" setting to yes or automatically.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
Execute the following in Strategy Tutorial:

  • With the tutorial project, login as administrator in Web 9.x
  • Navigate to preferences, project defaults, general, enable screen reader compatibility

  • Click apply
  • The look and feel of the web interface has changed.
  • Go back and uncheck the screen reader compatibility functionality
  • Click apply
  • The web interface remains in screen reader mode.

CAUSE:
This is currently by design. When Screen Reader compatibility is enabled, the "Use Dynamic HTML" setting is automatically set to "No". However, when Screen Reader compatibility is disabled, the "Use Dynamic HTML" setting still remains as set to the "No" option and does not automatically revert back to the default value of "Determine automatically".

ACTION:
An enhancement request has been logged to address this problem in Strategy Web.
Contact Strategy for an update regarding this issue.

WORKAROUND:
Disable Screen Reader compatibility and also set "Use Dynamic HTML" to "Determine automatically".
