KB43140: User is receiving "Error: MicroStrategy Intelligence Server: Not connected to server, ServerNet is not set" error message when running a report in MicroStrategy Developer 10.x

Stefan Zepeda

Salesforce Solutions Architect • Strategy

This article describes the error "Error: MicroStrategy Intelligence Server: Not connected to server, ServerNet is not set" error message when running a report in MicroStrategy Developer 10.x

SYMPTOM:
When a user runs a report in Strategy Developer 10.x, the following error may be encountered:

Error: Strategy Intelligence Server: Not connected to server, ServerNet is not set.

This error might only occur on one machine for a single user. If the user tries to run the report with a different user or on a different machine, the report could execute successfully.

CAUSE:
There is an issue with the Strategy Developer process on that certain machine. As the issue only occurs for the Strategy Developer process, the user will not see this occur on another machine during this time.

ACTION:
In Windows Task Manager, end the MSTRDesk.exe process and re-open Strategy Developer.
