SYMPTOM:
"Specified security mechanism encrypted id password and data is not supported by server" error message appears when trying to connect to IBM DB2 9.7 on AIX.
CAUSE:
The issue is caused by the Strategy ODBC driver not supporting the database connectivity when Fix Pack 6 for IBM DB2 UDB for Linux, UNIX, & Windows 9.7 hasn't been installed first.
WORKAROUND:
This issue can be resolved by using the IBM client DB2 driver and updating the read settings in the Warehouse Catalog to use the correct schema.
