KB4319: How to force the MicroStrategy Engine to create temporary tables in a location different from that of the project warehouse

Users can select the location where Strategy Engine creates temporary tables when executing reports. This can be done in two places:

• Open Database Instance Manager in Strategy Developer and click on the Advanced tab. Enter the desired location under 'Database name' in the 'Intermediate table storage' section.
   
  

• Use the temp table prefix in the (Very Large Database) VLDB properties window.
   
  
• Right-click on the project and select 'Configure project'.
• Click on 'VLDB Properties'.
• Expand the Tables folder in the file directory.
• Enter the appropriate prefix under the Table Prefix section.

  The temporary tables will be created in the database and user space indicated by this prefix.
