The password encryption option does not work for the Linux/UNIX Sybase ASE Wire Protocol driver in MicroStrategy 9.x

SYMPTOM:

The following error is encountered when trying to log into a Project Source in Strategy Desktop 9.x even though the 'Password Encryption' parameter is correctly configured in the odbc.ini file:

Error type: Odbc error. Odbc operation attempted. SQLDriverConnect. [HY0000:1640: on SQLHANDLE][Strategy][ODBC Sybase Wire Protocol driver][Sybase ASE]Adaptive Server requires encryption of the login password on the network. [28000:4002: on SQLHANDLE[Strategy][ODBC Sybase Wire Protocol driver][Sybase ASE]Login Failed. Check for valid user ID, server name and password, Connection String:DSN=XXXX...UID=XXXX...Error in Process method of Component: QueryEngineServer. Project XXXX, Job XXX, Error Code=-2147212544:

CAUSE:

This is a known issue with the 32-bit Strategy ODBC driver for Sybase ASE Wire Protocol 6.00.00.80 that ships with the following Strategy versions:

Strategy 9.0.2
Strategy 9.2.0
Strategy 9.2.1
Strategy 9.2.1m

ACTION:

This issue has been fixed in Strategy 9.3.0. Upgrade to this version to take advantage of the fix.
Strategy 9.3.0 comes with the 32-bit Strategy ODBC driver for Sybase ASE Wire Protocol 6.11.00.88.
