MicroStrategy Enterprise Manager 9.3.1 data load fails with the error "UPDATE/INSERT VALUE INCOMPATABLE WITH DATA TYPE OF OBJECT COLUMN DAY_ID2..." when the Enterprise Manager Warehouse resides on a DB2 9.x database.

SYMPTOM
Strategy Enterprise Manager 9.3.1 data load fails with the following error when the Enterprise Manager Warehouse resides on a DB2 9.x. database.

Error executing SQL :Execute Query failed.
Error type: Odbc error. Odbc operation attempted: SQLExecDirect. UPDATE/INSERT VALUE INCOMPATIBLE WITH DATA TYPE OF OBJECT COLUMN DAY_ID2. For more information, please consult DB2 document for error code SQL0408.INSERT INTO IS_DOC_FACT SELECT MAX(DS.RECORDTIME), ........................MAX(DS.DAY_ID), MAX(DS.HOUR_ID), MAX(DS.MINUTE_ID), .................FROM IS_DOCUMENT_STATS DS JOIN............................DS.JOBID, DS.ERRORMESSAGE, MD.REP_ID

CAUSE
This is a known issue with Strategy Enterprise Manager 9.3.1 data load when the Enterprise Manager Warehouse resides on a DB2 9.x database.

In Strategy 9.3.1, the data type of the DAY_ID column in all the statistics tables has been changed from DATE to TIMESTAMP. The data type of the DAY_ID2 column in the IS_DOC_FACT Enterprise Manager fact table is DATE. The error is seen because the data load process tries to insert TIMESTAMP data into a DATE data type column and DB2 9.x database does not allow this. The same error is seen against the fact tables IS_REP_FACT and IS_PROJECT_FACT_1.

ACTION
This issue has been fixed in Strategy version 9.4.0

WORKAROUND
Execute the script provided below against Strategy Enterprise Manager 9.3.1 to fix this issue. After running the script, future data loads should not fail with this error.
