SYMPTOM:
Even though the user isn’t granted “Use distribution services” privilege, the link to create subscriptions is available in Strategy Web 9.3.x - 10.x. But the user can only subscribe to his own mobile device, and the “To” button to select recipients is disabled, as shown below.
CAUSE:
“**Mobile View Document” privilege, which allows users to view report services documents in the Strategy Mobile client and create Mobile document subscriptions in Strategy Web. The user in this case has been granted this privilege, as shown below.
But without “Use distribution services” or “Web subscribe others” privileges, the user can only subscribe to his own mobile devices, while recipients cannot be chosen.
WORKAROUND:
To make sure that recipient list is available, “Use distribution services” and “Web subscribe others” privileges should be granted, as showed below.
To make sure other kinds of subscriptions can be created, “Use distribution services”, “Web subscribe others”, “Subscribe to Email”, “Subscribe to file”, “Subscribe to print” and “Web subscribe to history list” privileges should be granted, as showed below.
