KB43810: “The source manipulator found a missing dependency” error message received when copying a report in MicroStrategy Developer and Object Manager 9.3.x

This knowledge base article describes a known issue in MicroStrategy Developer and Object manager 9.3.x.

SYMPTOM:
In Strategy Developer and Object Manager 9.3.x, the following error message shows up when copying a report:

The source manipulator found a missing dependency. Object: <Drill Map id=xxxxx> is not found. A total of 1 object(s) need it, one of which is “Report name” <Report Definition id=xxxxx>

 

When editing the affected report and going to the “Edit Drill Map” option inside the Data menu, the following error message appears:

The requested object with id xxxxx and type 56 (Drill Map) does not exist in the object context.

 
CAUSE:
This is a known issue in in Strategy Developer and Object Manager 9.3.x
  
ACTION:
This issue has been addressed in Strategy 9.4.1. Upgrade to this version to take advantage of this fix.
